Today in Good News: Earlier this week, some members of the West Broward High School flag football team took a stand and voluntarily donned a hijab (religious head scarf worn by Muslim women) in support and solidarity with their captain, Irum Khan, 17, who had been facing much discrimination from her fellow classmates.
Now a high school senior, Khan has been beaten, had rocks thrown at her and called “terrorist” and other racial slurs since the sixth grade.
“Everybody looked at us weird,” West Broward senior Marilyn Solorzano said. “I understand now everything she went through and how hard it must have been. We just wore it for one day, and we noticed the difference. It was hard to keep on. It kept falling and our heads got really hot. You have to give her [credit] for wearing it every day.”
Though it is not known how many Muslim American high schoolers face discrimination on a daily basis because of their beliefs, when surveyed, the top 3 challenges of 10-18 year old Muslim American girls included: body self image, bullying, and being stereotyped.

First of all, I can’t believe people like you actually share the same air as real human beings.
Second of all - This guy didn’t “run a f*cking plane” into anything.
He was probably thousands of miles away back in his home country trying to live a peaceful life with his wife and kids.
Terrorists were the reason for 9/11.
NOT Muslims.
And no, not every Muslim is a terrorist.
Infact Muslims COMDEMN terrorisim. It is not a part of our religion.
Killing innocent people is completely against everything we believe in and stand for.
We hate it as much as every other human being.
A Christian could say he was painting himself blue because the Bible told him to do it but everyone knows there’s no basis for that in the Bible.
In the same way just because some people say that they are doing something because “Islam told them to” doesn’t mean there’s actually any basis for it in the Quran.
But no, to you if some terrorists do something suddenly we’re all responsible?
Suddenly innocent women and children have to die?
And that’s really okay with you?

How do some people have access to the internet when they’re like… that. Muslims are some of the most amazing people that I’ve ever met.
